Guys I’m so sorry for going MIA for a bit accidentally. I wish I could say I’ll never do it again but honestly it’s probably going to happen again. Every year today just makes me want to hug my loved ones a little closer. Recently, I was going through some old papers and reading old letters from friends (s/o @yourdaybymk) and resolved to try to write things down more and give people a physical object to go back to and be reminded of how amazing I think they are. I literally couldn't even tell you the gifts I got for most birthdays and definitely don't still have them but I save every letter and card. Confession time... I am a workaholic. I was up until 3am last night because I discovered a new software that I’m super excited about. I had a bit of a crisis recently when I had a hard time coming up with a list of my hobbies that don’t include work or murder 😂😂 But then I realized that hobbies are what people do to escape from their work or other stressors. For me, getting to sit down without interruption and dig into my business IS a hobby. I am just lucky enough to also get paid to do it! Getting to spend my days doing what I love (and outsourcing what I don’t) is my favorite part about owning my own business. If you ask many of my friends, my solution to almost any life problem is to start a business. I know it’s not for everyone but hey, it’s worked out pretty well for me! Okay, tell me I’m not the only person who is seeing all of the back to school posts lately and every single one makes me think “I love being an adult.”⠀ ⠀ Don’t get me wrong, I love learning and will talk your ear off about something new I’ve learned and am excited about (sorry in advance because it’s probably about criminal psychology 😂😂). ⠀ ⠀ But I’ve always been someone who has a really hard time applying myself when I’m not interested in a subject. ⠀ ⠀ That’s why I’ve been so fortunate to be able to find a passion in running a business I’m genuinely excited about the work I’m doing every day, and none of it feels like homework. ⠀ ⠀ So cheers to all of the teachers and students heading back to school today. I tip my hat to you all, to teachers for helping to shape the future of our world by educating young people and to students for showing up and bettering yourself, even when you’re not super excited about it! ⠀ ⠀ So tell me—are you like me and the reminder that you’re not going back to school is an exiting one? Or are you a teacher or student that’s super excited about the start of a new school year?
Guys, I know I gush about it all the time but (spoiler alert)—I love weddings! 👰 🤵 ⠀ ⠀ One of the reasons I like what I do so much is that I think we spend so much time harboring negative thoughts about ourselves that helping women to feel beautiful on this one incredibly special day feels like a huge honor. To help them shake off the chains of “not enough” and see past the things they perceive as flaws to see how beautiful they truly are. ⠀ ⠀ Sorry dudes, but I firmly believe Queen B was right when she said, “Who run the world? Girls.” ⠀ ⠀ All of the women I have been honored to call my clients have inspired me in different ways and taught me new things through my experience with them. And I think that’s pretty freaking awesome.
It’s been gloomy and I’ve been a bit under the weather lately so obviously I’m mentally frolicking with elephants in Thailand. 🐘 🐘🐘
