We all know the classic Chicago wedding spots like the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium - but what about those hidden gems that all the cool brides seem to be finding? Well look no further, because I am in full holiday mode, and am going to share with you 5 of my favorite Chicago wedding venues to host your winter wedding at!
Located in: Chicago Riverwalk
Although I’m always up for traveling for my job, having my business based in Chicago has allowed me to work at tons of Chicago wedding venues over the years. However, this particular venue has recently caught my eye as I was there recently to help them shoot the first promotional images for their new venue space.
Newly renovated, the top floor of the Swissotel exudes a glamorous tone, perfect for any bride who wants a more chic winter wedding. The neutral colors accommodate a variety of winter color palettes, and due to its location the space itself gives off gorgeous high views of the city. You basically can’t go wrong no matter where you turn—the views are gorgeous all around. Overall, this space was a stunning venue for our wedding shoot, and without a doubt would serve as a perfect winter wedding venue as well.

2. Bridgeport Art Center
Located in: Bridgeport
Although there are two event spaces to choose from at the Bridgeport Art Center, my favorite for a winter wedding is the Skyline Loft. The name itself does a great job of describing the venue’s personality, as the many windows do in fact showcase breathtaking skyline views. Additionally, not only does a loft represent classic Chicago, but the venue is large, while still giving off that cozy winter feel. For instance, the exposed beams work together with the wooden and brick motif, resulting in an interesting mixture of rustic and urban. Ultimately, with the combination of the Chicago views, and the cozy urban feel, this venue is very winter wedding appropriate, and one of my all time favs!

3. Room 1520
Located in: West Loop
If you’re looking for a winter wonderland venue, look no further. Room 1520 is a classic all white loft venue, with a touch of vintage charm. The windows surrounding the room will allow guests to see the snow throughout the space, making them feel like part of the winter foliage.
All in all, this place should definitely be a contender for a Chicago winter wedding venue.
Oh, and there is a built in marble cocktail bar. Just sayin’.

4. The Thompson Hotel
Located in: The Magnificent Mile
The Thompson Hotel is for our more luxurious winter wedding brides. Not only do you have 2 floors to choose from, but both spaces are super intimate, giving it that cozy feel we all love so much about winter weddings. Nevertheless, my favorite aspect of this venue would have to be it’s location. It’s right in the heart of the city, and therefore guests will constantly be surrounded by beautiful Chicago architecture through the floor to ceiling windows.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a more luxurious and private venue, The Thompson Hotel will not disappoint!

5. The Murphy
Located in: The Magnificent Mile
Representing The Chapelle De Notre-Dame de Consolation in Paris, The Murphy is a grand wedding venue, that is giving us serious winter wedding vibes.
Overall, I wanted to include as much of a variety on this blog as I could, therefore The Murphy is the option for brides who are opting for a more traditional and formal wedding. Whether it be the beautiful ornate detailing found so much throughout the interior, or the history inspired architecture, this event space is a perfect place to hold a winter wedding (especially a Christmas themed one).
